Amanao Kouya was founded in 1870 as a studio that dyed yarn for weaving Hirose Kasuri. Mostly dyeing yarn for generations, we now produce other indigo products that can be used in daily life such as monpe (work pants/trousers), tenugui (hand towels), and kamaguchi (purses).
